Asia hotels run from super expensive luxury hotels like the Sohka Angkor Hotel which has a room that goes for $2000 USD a night the Savoy in Yangoon or any of the Raffles or Intercontinental in Phnom Penh Bangkok Singapore Manila to the free hotels on Sihanoukville beach and every kind of accommodation and lodging in between. Asia hotels tend to be more affordable and give better travel value than any where else in the world. Discount Hotels in Asia usually are in the $100 a night range with the Pan Pacific in Manila being one of our favorites for budget hotels we also like The Ambassador in Bangkok. For cheap hotels Asia really shines anywhere in the backpackers section in Saigon are good choices. Guesthouses and Hostels the orchedee Guesthouse in Cambodia and the D& D on Khoa San Road. Beijing we liked as the star ratings are done by the goverment and they are uniform and are not distorted so what it says is what you get for all of the classes for those that are going to the 2008 China Olympics in Beijing and for some of the football will be in Shanghai.
The main features that we like to see in the Asia luxury hotels is allot of art work for this reason we love the Beijing Raffles. For Discount Hotels we like them to be almost 5 star at 3 star prices a great discount hotel will be under $100 and you feel guilty when you pay the bill.

Budget hotels will make up the bulk of the hotels in Asia that you will find in the major Asia city's. Slightly expensive would be the Hard Rock hotel in Pattaya this is just a down right fun place to stay with lots of stuff to do. For Cheap hotels we want air con, hot water, TV fridge, large bed and have a pool these are hard to find, but they are out there Angeles City in the Philippines Pattaya Thailand and surprisingly in Bagon Myanmar- Burma.
