London, the capital city of the United Kingdom and England is one of the premier cities of the world- in the class of Paris, New York and Tokyo. London is a powerhouse economically and on average brings in about 17% of the UK’s entire gross national product. London is also noted as the top financial market in Europe and one of the premier financial centers in the world.

Besides flexing its economic muscles, London is also a cultural city, which is extremely cosmopolitan. It rates at the top of the world in the arts, communications, politics, architecture, education, etc. London has for the last several hundred years been an attractive place to visit and properly visiting London usually requires a car hire and a well appointed London Hotel.
The advent of London hotels mainly took place after the 19 th century. Before this period, large London hotels were unheard of.was mostly an agricultural region, as was most of the world and many of the wealthy English landowners usually lived in the countryside part of the year and in London for the other part. Because travel was much more difficult than it is now, most people once in London stayed for a considerable length of time and if they did stay for short periods of time, let’s say less than a week, they usually lodged with a friend or family. Business visitors and travelers for that matter were on a much smaller scale.

While there were lodging options available, they were mostly either lodging houses or coaching inns. These inns usually were not in the center city, but along the roads and travel networks. Once railroads were developed starting in the 1830’s, lodging inns were also found along side locomotive stations. Unfortunately, all except one coaching inn still stands today. This distinction of being the last coaching inn in London goes to the George Inn which is now cared for by the National Trust.

Besides the coaching inns, there were some smaller hotels that were the precursor to modern types of lodging. These include the Mivart’s which is the precursor of the Claridge. For instance, the Mivart’s was established in 1812 about 30 to 40 years before many larger London lodging establishments started to be built.

By the 1860’s the railroads have developed into a popular way to travel to London and many business and leisure travelers came to London for shorter periods of time. Hotels that catered to railroad passengers were called Railway Hotels and were usually built quite close to the London railroad terminals. These Railway Hotels attracted clientele by being seen as status symbols and most Railway Hotels were large and luxurious.

Many of these large and luxurious London hotels were built during the Victorian era. For instance, the Langham Hotel was the largest hotel in the city of London and the first to be fitted with hydraulic lifts in 1865. The Savoy was another London first; it was the first hotel to have bathrooms in each room called an ensuite.

Do you remember James Bond’s film Octopussy? Then you have certainly not forgotten the sumptuous Indian palace where part of the action was placed.
Nowadays that place is a luxury hotel known as the Taj Lake Palace (image in Flickr), located in Udaipur, Rajasthan, an area full of luxury hotels.

This and other hotels are part of the list of the 101 best hotels in the world produced by the Tatler magazine, part of the Condé Nast group.
Exploring the list of luxury hotels is an interesting activity, perhaps you could discover where to go next holidays. If you want an island, you can choose a luxury hotel in Santorini, Bulgari’s exclusive hotel in Bali or a more atypical destination as a luxury hotel in Easter Island. Other famous islands such as the Maldives or Seychelles also have some resorts in the list of the best hotels in the world.

Not all hotels have white sand beaches and crystal clear waters, we can also find a luxury hotel in the Chilean Patagonia (near the impressive Torres del Paine). Those who like staying in palaces and castles also have a wide choice: the famous Château de la Chèvre d’Or near Monaco, a historical palace in Rome, Residenza Napoleone III, or a luxury hotel in Buenos Aires.

JK Palace Capri has been declared this year’s best hotel in the world. Booking a room in any of these hotels is not for all economies, probably. But if you happen to be near, at least you can visit their halls. For us, Tagzania makers, one of the 101 best hotels in the world is quite close, in the Basque region of Rioja Alavesa, the Marques de Riscal hotel designed by Frank Gehry.

Luxury Hotels Budapest

Hilton Budapest Castle District, just like almost all of the luxury five-star hotels in Budapest Hungary, has been given about 4.5 rate out of 5 on average in the various online hotel guest reviews. As Graeme Harwood on Travel Intelligence puts it: "My favourite and first port of call whenever I return to Budapest, this Hilton must rank in the Hilton's top ten. Even 007 lost his cool here; that is, Roger Moore, who in a moment of implausible generosity, gushed over "this wonderful hotel - the prettiest in Europe." (Sir Roger Moore and UNICEF held a press conference at the Hilton Hotel in 2007). He also adds that the panoramic views of the hotel (overlooking the Pest side featuring the Parliament, the Chain Bridge, the Gresham Palace, etc.) bar none and you can enjoy "the finest after-dinner walks in Budapest" - especially on a corporate affair. Go to the official website of Hilton Budapest Castle District to make your booking.
Hilton Budapest is not in the commercial centre of the city (which is Deak square). Instead it is located in the heart of the historic Castle District on the Buda Hills of the Buda side of Budapest. The Castle District is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The Fisherman's Bastion and the renaissance Matthias Church are literally a two-minute walk from bed to turret or chapel, and you can easily take a pleasant walk to the many museums of the Castle District. Mammut Shopping Mall, one of the most successful shopping centers in Hungary, is about 10-15 minutes on foot. Landmarks on the Pest side (Parliament, Szechenyi Spa Bath, the Jewish District with the largest European Synagogue, the Central Market Hall, Andrassy Avenue, Heroes' Square, or the pedestrian only shopping street called Vaci utca, etc. can be quickly reached by public transport in 15-35 minutes, or you can take a cab any time to enjoy the busy nightlife on the Pest side. If you wish to get around by trams or the underground, it is worth concentrating on one square to get your directions: Moszkva ter (Moscow square) on the red metro line and a major stop on the number 4 or 6 tram. The other square (Adam Clark) is at the foot of the Chain Bridge: here you can take the funicular railway up the hill, but it is more of a tourist destination than a real stop. The Castle District is basically built upon an underground cave system (like the digestive system of the Buda Hill, even featuring a wine tour). Consequently, private transportation is limited in order to protect the cave system from bearing too much weight: but Hilton Budapest guests have the privilege to drive in and out free of charge.

Chicago Luxury Hotels

If you're looking to "stay with style" in the magnificent mile, luxury hotels in Chicago won't disappoint. Chicago hotels host some of the highest numbers of travelers in the United States-for both business and pleasure. With high demand comes specified supply, and Chicago luxury hotels simply deliver consistent quality to meet the specifications of even the pickiest guests.

While the second city abounds with lodging options, those seeking luxury will most likely want to stay within "the Magnificent Mile," the shopping, dining, and cultural hubbub of the Midwest. You'll want to be steps away from the best things to do in Chicago, not stuck in a cab or on an el-train for most of your trip. Luxury hotels in Chicago start with this district, though there are plenty of Chicago luxury hotels in The Loop business district as well. Below are just a few recommendations if your goal is to fully participate in Chicago's magnificence. At the top of anyone's list when it comes to luxury hotels in Chicago will always be the Trump International, The Four Seasons, and The Ritz Carlton. These names have become synonymous with excellence for luxury suites in Chicago for good reason. But their virtues are well known, and have been repeatedly heralded elsewhere. An example of a lesser-known major hotel getting a lot of buzz for its luxury suites in Chicago is the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower. Located at 20 E Chestnut St, the Sofitel stunning architecture provides visual appeal that gives you your money's worth before you even walk inside. This high-rise tower of shimmering glass is famous for providing honeymooners with the most romantic of evenings, and has been called one of the best luxury choices in Chicago.

For a more historic experience, the Drake Hotel is a classic example of great luxury suites in Chicago. A landmark of the city's skyline, the Drake is located on the lake side of Michigan Avenue. Founded in 1920, you'll find a very exclusive club-like atmosphere in the lobby. High tea at the Drake has been called a must-do for nostalgic visitors to the Windy City. Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe's initials are even carved into the wooden bar in the Cape Cod Room, the Drake's quaint seafood eatery.

Other notable luxury hotels in Chicago are the Peninsula and the Intercontinental Chicago. The Peninsula, located on Superior St. at Michigan Ave, boasts top-of-the-line Asian style in a near-perfect luxury experience. The Peninsula offers a spa and fitness center that takes its two upper floors, giving your body the luxury experience of a lifetime when you return from an exciting Chicago day trip. The Intercontinental, a sentimental favorite among the locals, was founded in 1929 in the former Medinah Athletic Club. Boasting the only hotel with a front entrance on the magnificent mile, the Intercontinental has maintained it's historic fitness roots: work out with a personal trainer, or visit the ornate pool that was frequented by gold medalist Johnny Weissmuller himself. But the Intercontinental is no athletic club. It offers state-of-the-art amenities after a recent remodel, and is a real winner among Chicago luxury hotels.

If you're looking to stay differently than the hotel routine, but still in the mood for luxury, Chicago luxury rentals are a viable option as well. Many studios, one & two bedroom apartments, or full floors can be rented daily, weekly, or monthly. These privately owned Chicago luxury rentals can be found through one of several management services, but they maintain the decorative feel of a real home, so you can relax during your Chicago vacation in style. With detailed images available online, you'll be able to search wisely to find that perfect luxury loft overlooking Lake Michigan. You can even pretend you own the place during the stay-at no extra cost! Chicago luxury rentals can be a great choice: sometimes you can find one that's much more spacious, but for the same price you'd spend at Chicago hotels.

Rhode Island Luxury Hotels

The Rhode Island luxury hotels are not prolific in number, though you can enjoy an upscale lodging experience when visiting most of the state's main tourist destinations. The hotels in Rhode Island are relatively expensive on the whole, especially during the peak summer season, but the rates top out in a fairly comfortable range, so it's sometimes worth it to spend a little extra for an upgrade. When you are having trouble finding luxury lodging in Rhode Island when looking to the more standard hotels, you can always consider the more upscale bed and breakfast inns. In addition to keeping bed and breakfasts in mind when searching for your ideal Rhode Island luxury accommodation, you can also keep an eye out for attractive vacation rentals. Many of the top vacation rentals in the state can be found near the water in destinations like Block Island. Between the upscale hotels, the more fancy bed and breakfasts, and the spacious vacation rentals, finding your ideal fit for luxury lodging in Rhode Island shouldn't be too difficult.

Should you be heading to Rhode Island on a flight, you will most likely land at the T.F. Green Airport, which can be found in Warwick. While some of the Warwick hotels are fairly upscale, you will have better luck finding luxury Rhode Island hotels just north in the capital city of Providence. For those who fancy boutique hotels, the Hotel Dolce Villa is probably the best fit when it comes to the Providence luxury hotels. There are 9 one-bedroom suites at the Dolce Villa and 5 two-bedroom suites, and each is decked out in upscale amenities. Memory foam beds ensure a good night's sleep, and even the sleeper sofas feature memory foam mattresses. Flat-screen TVs, DVD players, a CD players, fully-equipped kitchens, and Jacuzzi bathtubs are just some of the amenities that help to make a stay here so rewarding. The two-bedroom suites boast fireplaces, which is a nice added touch. The Renaissance Providence is another upscale hotel in the capital that you can add to your list of possible places to stay. A tasteful decor characterizes the well-appointed guest rooms at the Renaissance, and in-room amenities include luxury bedding, individual climate control, satellite cable TV, bathrobes, a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board, among others. You will also enjoy an array of amenities when booking your stay at the Hotel Providence, which offers great rooms, a terrific onsite restaurant, and plenty of attractive meeting and venue space.

Newport, like Providence, is one of the best places to find luxury lodging in Rhode Island, which seems appropriate in the land of mansions. The Castle Hill Inn and Resort is one of the better luxury hotels in Newport, and it offers an array of upscale guest units to choose from, including the Turret Suite, which delights with its 360-degree views of Narragansett Bay. The Chanler at Cliff Walk is another premier lodging establishment in Rhode Island, and you will definitely do well to book your stay here. The Chanler at Cliff Walk is a mansion turned hotel, which helps to make it one of the more unique Rhode Island luxury accommodation options. Delectable rooms and villa units that will have you feeling like a king or a queen are what you will find at the Chanler, and its onsite restaurant is one of the best in the city. Heated floors, marble and granite accents in the bathrooms, and fireplaces are just some of the in-room amenities that are standard at the Chanler at Cliff Walk. Other Newport hotels like the Vanderbilt Hall Hotel, the Hotel Viking, and the Newport Marriott help to add to the healthy selection of upscale hotels in the "City by the Sea."

Finding luxury lodging in Rhode Island outside of Providence and Newport can sometimes be a task, which is why vacation rentals are worth considering. On Block Island, for example, the hotels are mostly noted for their locations and not the amenities in the guest rooms. For those who want a Rhode Island luxury accommodation near the beach, the Block Island vacation rentals are definitely a good way to go. There are an array of homes that you can rent on Block Island, and not only do many of them offer good amenities, but they also offer plenty of extra space. Full kitchens with stainless steel appliances, private decks, home entertainment systems, and laundry facilities are what some of the more upscale Rhode Island vacation rental homes feature. Westerly is another top destination in Rhode Island for those who are looking to enjoy some time on the beach, and there are an array of vacation rentals here as well. The more upscale vacation rentals in Westerly are found in the village of Watch Hill. They offer a home away from home experience that is hard to match, even when it comes to the Rhode Island luxury hotels.

As such, luxury hotels in Arkansas is a relative term, though that's not to say that there aren't some standouts. When it comes to the Trinidad and Tobago luxury hotels, your choices are somewhat limited. On the island of Trinidad, the capital city of Port of Spain is really your only bet for finding luxury lodging, while the upscale resorts are a good place to start on the smaller island of Tobago. Tobago also has a few luxury hotels, but not resorts and there aren’t many of them. Just because 5 star accommodations in Trinidad and Tobago are few and far between, you can still enjoy a luxurious stay here, so if that’s what you’re after, you can make it happen.

As mentioned, Port of Spain is the place to look on the island of Trinidad if Trinidad and Tobago luxury hotels are what you have in mind. The Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre and the Hyatt Regency Trinidad easily deserve mention among the best hotels in Trinidad, and you won’t find better rooms anywhere else on the island. As one might expect at a finer hotel, the Hilton Trinidad boasts more than one restaurant, an array of bars, and a nice fitness center. The hotel also offers its guests two pools and an equal amount of tennis courts, and though there is not a spa here, you can interest yourself in the hotel’s massage services. The Hyatt Regency is a newer hotel, and it is the more luxurious of the two as well. The Hyatt promises both business and leisure travelers a comfortable stay and is easily among the top luxury hotels in Trinidad and Tobago. In addition to upscale, modern rooms, the Hyatt Regency Trinidad also boasts a fine restaurant that features both Trinidad cuisine and international menu choices, a Tapas bar and lounge, a rooftop pool, a 24-hour gym, and a relaxing spa.

Tourism is much more prevalent on the island of Tobago, and as such, it is the better island for those seeking 5 star accommodations in Trinidad and Tobago. The Le Grand Courlan Resort & Spa is one of the frontrunners when it comes to the 5 star accommodations in Trinidad and Tobago, and it can be found on Tobago’s southern coast. Scarborough, which is Tobago’s capital, is just 5 miles away when you stay here, as is the Crown Point Airport. Guests at Le Grand Courlan Resort & Spa will have their own sandy beach to enjoy, and as for the rooms, they are tropical bliss. King-size beds, complimentary robes, and spacious balconies are just some of the perks to relish in at Le Grand Courlan, and the spa here is the perfect fit when relaxation is what you seek. Because it offers all inclusive options, Le Grand Courlan is not only one of the best hotels in Trinidad and Tobago when it comes to luxury rooms, but also one of the best for those who really want to enjoy a hassle-free trip. Other resorts like the Coco Reef Resort, the VHL Tobago Golf & Spa Resort, and the Grafton Beach resort can also be classified as Trinidad and Tobago luxury hotels, and they offer like experiences as the Le Grand Courlan.

For those who are looking for something other than the resort experience, the Plantation Beach Villas are able to deliver a luxuriously good experience. There are only 6 villas to choose from at Plantation Beach Villas, and they are all wedged between a rainforest and a picturesque beach. British colonial architecture dominates the spacious villas here, all of which boast 3 bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and lovely covered porches. The overall facilities at Plantation Beach Villas are less than what you will find at the resorts, but that’s a fair trade for those who want added space, privacy, and comfort. Fully restored and ready to knock your socks off, the Blue Haven Hotel in Scarborough is just one more establishment to consider when it is the best hotels in Trinidad and Tobago that you seek. Once a hot spot for film stars in the 1950s, the Blue Haven is making a fine return, and if you really want the full experience here, you will rent one of the 2-bedroom villas. These villas have their own private pools. Regardless of which room you choose here, you will enjoy a balcony with an ocean view. Limited room service is available to guests here, and during your down time, you can enjoy the hotel’s fitness center, play on a match on its tennis court, swim in the pool, or relax in a sauna.

These lodging choices are just some of the options when it comes to Trinidad and Tobago luxury hotels, and you’ll do well to book a stay at any one of them. In addition to great rooms and ample facilities, these upscale hotels also pride themselves on delivering top notch service. Trinidad and Tobago awaits those who want to enjoy a slice of paradise, and when you stay at one of the best hotels in Trinidad and Tobago, you’ll only have more to savor when it comes to that slice. So plan your Trinidad and Tobago luxury getaway today, and see what this up and coming Caribbean hot spot has to offer.

Asia Hotels

Asia hotels run from super expensive luxury hotels like the Sohka Angkor Hotel which has a room that goes for $2000 USD a night the Savoy in Yangoon or any of the Raffles or Intercontinental in Phnom Penh Bangkok Singapore Manila to the free hotels on Sihanoukville beach and every kind of accommodation and lodging in between. Asia hotels tend to be more affordable and give better travel value than any where else in the world. Discount Hotels in Asia usually are in the $100 a night range with the Pan Pacific in Manila being one of our favorites for budget hotels we also like The Ambassador in Bangkok. For cheap hotels Asia really shines anywhere in the backpackers section in Saigon are good choices. Guesthouses and Hostels the orchedee Guesthouse in Cambodia and the D& D on Khoa San Road. Beijing we liked as the star ratings are done by the goverment and they are uniform and are not distorted so what it says is what you get for all of the classes for those that are going to the 2008 China Olympics in Beijing and for some of the football will be in Shanghai.
The main features that we like to see in the Asia luxury hotels is allot of art work for this reason we love the Beijing Raffles. For Discount Hotels we like them to be almost 5 star at 3 star prices a great discount hotel will be under $100 and you feel guilty when you pay the bill.

Budget hotels will make up the bulk of the hotels in Asia that you will find in the major Asia city's. Slightly expensive would be the Hard Rock hotel in Pattaya this is just a down right fun place to stay with lots of stuff to do. For Cheap hotels we want air con, hot water, TV fridge, large bed and have a pool these are hard to find, but they are out there Angeles City in the Philippines Pattaya Thailand and surprisingly in Bagon Myanmar- Burma.

The Imperial isn't just one of the best luxury hotels in Delhi. It's also recognized as one of the top hotels in Asia, and has an impressive string of awards to its name.

What really sets the Imperial apart is its wonderful old world atmosphere and colonial charm. The Imperial Location: The hotel is very conveniently located in a central area of New Delhi, just off Janpath and adjacent to the government-run handicraft emporium. The Imperial Accommodations: 188 rooms and 45 suites, all with marble bathtubs. The 2,100 square foot Royal Imperial Suite is a sight to behold, and was selected as one of the best hotel suites in the Asia/Pacific region by Elite Traveler in 2008.

The sea, the sunshine, simple mindedness: the crucial spirit of Greece that foremost appealed to numerous travellers. These 4 suites over a conventional whitewashed tavern facing over the Libyan ocean are what Greece has actually always been about. Add up meals made with home-grown ingredients and fresh fish plus meat from local marketplaces, Cretan wine direct from the vat and the 21st century glides by.

Your first impression of Agia Fotia, prior to your arrival to a hospitable welcome from the owners Stavros and Vikki, is a small white establishment puckered into the drop-off, wooden duckboards crosswise the pebble beach and a gaggle of curious goofs peering at you through the fence of their waterside inclosure. In the break of day you are able to stare across a seascape of blues and greens before having breakfast at a wooden table set within feet to the shore.

The small two hundred year old chapel of Agia Fotia dwells nearby and numerous virtually abandoned beaches, places of driftwood and gently coloured pebbles, are simply a couple of minutes’ drive away. The south seacoast bears numerous long, sandlike beaches, some Minoan remains and a dramatically placed old Monastery at Preveli. Valleys of purplish thyme, Venetian bridges, the mouth of the Kourtaliotiko Gorge and the Greco-Roman places at Gortys and Phaestos and are altogether fantastic spots to explore.

Alabama Luxury Hotels

Finding Alabama luxury hotels can be kind of difficult, mostly because of the fact that the state lacks in 4- and 5-star accommodations. That's not to say that there aren't any luxury hotels in Alabama, but you'll just have to do some proper searching. As tourism continues to increase in this Southern hot spot, however, more and more luxury hotels are popping up across the state, so your options are getting better all the time. Being that golf is such a popular pursuit in Alabama, the state has seen the addition of some pretty impressive golf resorts, so you can always go that route if you please. As for other options when it comes to securing a luxury accommodation in Alabama, some of the state's larger cities and towns are good places to look.

Birmingham is the largest city in Alabama, and as such, it's lodging possibilities are among the most prolific in the land. While the Birmingham hotels don't necessarily feature tons of luxury options among them, there is one new hotel in town that is looking to raise the accommodations bar. The Wynfrey Hotel, which is found attached to the upscale Riverchase Galleria, is the top luxury hotel in Birmingham, and among the amenities that you'll enjoy in its tastefully-decorated rooms and suites include down pillows, pillow top mattresses, a mini-bar, Italian marble bathrooms, and more. Before or after a long day of visiting Birmingham attractions like Rickwood Field, treating yourself to a rejuvenating session in the Wynfrey Hotel's spa is sure to please, and if you are in town for business, the 32,000 square feet of meeting space should come in handy. As mentioned, golf resorts are becoming more prevalent in Alabama, and should you be visiting the Birmingham area, the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa offers what is tantamount to the best golf resort in the state. Golfers will definitely want to consider the Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort when compiling their lists of top Alabama luxury hotels.

Plush guest rooms and a long list of amenities await you at the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa, and even if you don't like to golf it's an excellent place to stay. One of the things that helps to make this resort one of the top luxury hotels in Alabama is the fact that it boasts the world's third-longest golf course. This course is just one of many in the state that pertain to the famed Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, which is largely responsible for making Alabama golf as renowned as it is. The Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa also boasts a 12,000-square-foot spa, and it's hard to find fault with its extra-comfortable rooms. Oversized luxury bathrooms, private balconies, and deluxe amenities help to make the rooms here among the best in the area, and as is customary of the Alabama luxury hotels, you'll find a few onsite eateries here. Another great luxury golf resort that you might consider in Alabama is the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa, which can be found overlooking the Mobile Bay in Point Clear. You're close to Gulf Coast destinations like Mobile, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach when you stay at the Grand Hotel Marriott in Point Clear, and you'll also find a couple courses here that pertain to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Speaking of Mobile, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach, they are also home to some establishments that you might add to your luxury accommodation in Alabama list. In Mobile, for example, The Battle House delivers an upscale experience, while both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach boast some pretty upscale condominium resorts. A stunning lobby isn't the only thing that the downtown Mobile Battle House boasts. The 207 rooms and the 31 suites here are quite impressive, and there's also an inviting 10,000-square-foot onsite spa, not to mention an appetizing Italian restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As for the upscale condo resorts in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, the Gulf Plantation House is among the examples. There are more than 500 guest units to choose from at Gulf Shores Plantation, and they vary in quality and price, so you can pick one that best suits your wants and needs. The Preferred units are the most upscale, and they offer all of the comforts of home, and then some. Upscale beach hotels like the Gulf Plantation House are easily among the most popular luxury hotels in Alabama.

Not everyone who visits Alabama will be looking to visit the central and southern parts of the state. Northern Alabama has plenty of delights to speak about, and if it's a luxury hotel that you seek in the upper reaches, the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa in Florence is a top option. This luxury accommodation in Alabama offers close proximity to two Robert Trent Jones golf courses, and when you're tired out after a few intense rounds, you can hit the hotel's 6,000-square-foot spa. If you aren't up for a spa treatment, relaxing in your room's deep garden tub is always a good way to soothe the soul as well. While Florence is a top northern Alabama vacation destination, so too are Decatur and Huntsville. The Decatur hotels unfortunately do not offer much in the way of luxury. As for the Huntsville hotels, they are also lacking in luxury on the whole, though places like the Westin Huntsville do well to offer a considerable amount of comfort and amenities. It may not be the top luxury accommodation in Alabama, but the Westin Huntsville isn't exactly shabby. In addition to nice amenities in the rooms, the Westin Huntsville also offers a great location. You're right in the heart of the Bridge Street Town Centre, which is full of restaurants and shops, and the US Space and Rocket Center is just a couple of miles off.

Las Vegas Luxury Hotels

Few places in the world offer such a conglomeration of luxury hotels as Las Vegas. In a city known for pampering its guests, there's no shortage of places to bask in the warm glow of magnificent opulence as a luxury hotel in Las Vegas. The hardest part might be choosing which of these cavernous casinos is best suited for you.

The newest of the Las Vegas luxury hotels is the Wynn, which is making its case to be the most remarkable hotel on the entire Las Vegas strip. Building on what has made every other luxury hotel in Las Vegas so popular, the Wynn is already one of the most talked about locations in the city, and it's no surprise why; one step inside the front door and you'll see one of the grandest accomplishments of the strip. The décor is immaculate, the limits high and if you are lucky enough to see the penthouse suites atop the hotel, it's a sight you'll never forget.

If the Wynn isn't quite your style, though, there are still plenty of old standbys to fall upon. The Bellagio is still the bellwether for Las Vegas luxury hotels, its opulent entryway and flourishing fountains are signature sights for anyone making their way down the strip. The rooms are debatably the best of any in the city, there are six pools to lounge by during the day, and the Spa Bellagio is the definition of relaxation and indulgence.

The immense Caesars Palace, is another of the most emblematic casinos on the strip. As far as Las Vegas luxury hotels go, you'll find few better than this one: it has all the amenities of a five star hotel, one of the top clubs in Pure, and the kind of gambling that typifies Vegas excess.

Another top luxury hotel in Las Vegas is Mandalay Bay. With its soft blues and extensive table games, not to mention some of the best shopping corridors in the city, you can get just about anything here. The Paris hotel is not far behind in terms of treating yourself, plus you get to pretend you are in the romance capital of the world with the replica Eiffel Towel looking down on you.

Treasure Island, MGM Grand and the Mirage also must be included into any discussion of Las Vegas luxury hotels. In any other city, these mammoth hotels would be the shining jewel of the region - in Vegas they are merely "amongst the best". Which is why you should definitely give them a shot - each one is swanky beyond description, while giving you access to some of the most popular Vegas nightlife and shows.

Off strip hotels are no less luxurious, particularly in the cases of the Palms and the Hard Rock Hotel. Both seem to think luxurious is synonymous with a party atmosphere, though, so if that's not your idea of indulging yourself it's best to look elsewhere.

Luxury Hotels Venice

Most of my site is on le Marche, Piedmont and Sardinia - I have included these luxury hotels Venice offers because they are exceptional hotels and I have personal experience of them. Let's start with the two best luxury hotels in Venice.
Few hotels epitomize the elegance, style and fine dining that are synonymous with Italy in general, but with the city of Venice in particular.

Venice is a city that is world renowned for style and superb taste it is no easy feat to be the best and most luxurious hotel in Venice.

This rare distinction is however something that these two hotels have managed to achieve.

Opulent, yet understated luxury, await you in what must surely be the most remarkable city on earth.
Located in a magnificently restored 14th century palace right on the doorstep of St Marks the Hotel Danieli is my second favourite Hotel in Venice. The hotel is the perfect place to stay for those looking to visit Venice in the graceful style of yesteryear. Marble, chandeliers and elegant gold leaf columns are the order of the day.

The hotel offers a variety of rooms, ranging from simple elegance through to sumptuous luxury. Originally built in the 14th century as a palace for Doge Dandolo, this Doge's palace also served to accommodate visiting nobility.

Attentive service by the hotel staff and the excellent food offered by the La Terrazza rooftop restaurant ensure that your stay here in the heart of Venice will be memorable and luxurious. Click here to book now at preferential rates .

The Hotel Danieli and the Hotel Cipriani are the finest luxury hotels that Venice can offer. My personal favourite is the Hotel Cipriani but there is very little to choose between them. Jenny, a visitor to my site, doesn't agree with me though!!

For more luxury options in Venice and elsewhere in Italy visit my luxury villas in Italy page. If neither of these two hotels appeal then click below to search for the perfect hotel in Venice.

Luxury Hotels in Isolated Locations: IceHotel, Sweden

If we said the Explora Hotel on Easter Island was the most isolated luxury hotels in the world, we were wrong.

The IceHotel is the latest, craziest name on the Luxury Hotel circuit and it's 200 km north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden.

It's the world's first ice hotel and it's exactly what it says on the packet - a hotel with over 80 individually designed rooms, a bar, reception, and even a church, all made entirely out of blocks of ice taken from the nearby Torne River.

Colder than ice
You'll be wondering what the weather's like inside this baby. Rest assured, it's pretty damn icy, between 17 and 28 degrees Fahrenheit all the time. You can't even warm yourself up in the bar, because all the glasses are made of ice too. No warmth for the wicked.

And how about snuggling up at bedtime? Thankfully, although the bed's made of ice, they've thoughtfully covered it in reindeer skin and provided a thermal sleeping bag to keep your bits from freezing off. Here's the hotel's advice on going to bed:

"Dress in warm thermal underwear, put on a hat and slip into the cozy sleeping bag. Share the whole surrealistic ice-night with someone special. Let it be a night to remember."

Puerto Vallarta is a scenic city of 350,000 people on the Caribbean Sea in Mexico. People have been vacationing in the region for decades to enjoy the white sand beaches, professional golf courses, and world class hotels. Puerto Vallarta luxury hotels have the ability to keep guests entertained for days with their spas, pools, and excursions to Mayan ruins and nearby archaeological sites. The best hotels in Puerto Vallarta are the ones situated on the beach. Most beachside resorts in Puerto Vallarta have snorkeling equipment and offer introductory diving lessons or fishing excursions. For many people these days, going on vacation doesn’t necessarily mean turning off all electronic connections. In fact, many people are inclined to choose luxury hotels that cater to their plugged-in lifestyle allowing them time to enjoy the high-tech toys that are often pushed aside for webnars and calendar syncing.

A recent MSNBC article plugged in to the some of the luxury hotels with the best tech amenities. What they found is that technology is quickly matching other amenities in terms of personalization and creativity. Leave the pillow bar behind; it’s time for WiFi and Hi-Def options.

At the Hotel Monaco in Seattle, guests can compete in Guitar Hero III tournaments during the evening wine hour every Friday night. Hotel 1000 also in Seattle boasts a variety of tech-amenities including: no dead zones, digital thermometers that can be set to specific degrees and which turn on when they recognize guest presence in the room. Electronic button indicators letting staff know when not to disturb guest and when room is unoccupied for cleaning, virtual golf programs, and a variety of HD TV and music choices are also available for techy travelers.

At Hotel Sax in Chicago, The Studio: An Experience by Microsoft, was launched to create the ultimate digital space for guests including Xbox, a laptop work area, music library and digital music players, and home theater-style entertainment.

Hotel Teatro in Denver give guests GPS systems with programmed local outdoor adventures so they can have their connectivity and activities too. While on the opposite end, Le Parker Meridien in NYC takes high-tech even higher with a Wii exercise room in its health club so guests can play reality tennis with virtual partners at any level.

Clearly, luxury hotels are adding high-tech haute couture amenities in an effort to reach luxury travelers who unwind by staying plugged-in, but on their own terms. Be it through internet connectivity, video games and entertainment, or by interactive room technology for personalizing stays and communicating with hotel staff, these luxury hotels are no longer just virtual reality.

The Punta Cana luxury hotels are the perfect fit for anyone seeking an upscale Caribbean getaway, as they not only provide sumptuous accommodations, but also proximity to world-class beaches. When you stay at a luxury hotel in Punta Cana, you’re in for the resort experience, as these hotels can be found on sprawling resort campuses. Multiple facilities, a range of savory dining choices, and a host of complimentary activities will most likely be included in your rates at the Punta Cana luxury hotels, because the resorts here are mostly all inclusive. Some will allow you to book a room without the all inclusive plan, but if it’s a low-stress vacation that you have in mind, you’re better off going the all inclusive route. You won’t have a worry in the world, as everything will be taken care of for you.

Some 30 miles of beaches greet visitors to Punta Cana, and the bulk of these visitors have nothing in mind but fun in the sun. That’s what a Punta Cana vacation is all about, and when you stay at a Punta Cana luxury resort, the good times just seem to be a little better. Extra perks like a nightly turndown service, guest robes and slippers, and 24-hour room service await you when you book a room or suite at the luxury resorts in Punta Cana, and you’ll always be within walking distance of an idyllic beach wherever you choose to stay. Once you leave the comfort of your room, you’ll never be at a loss for things to do. Daily activities and games will be offered in good supply, and you can always grab some snorkeling equipment, lounge around on the beach, or pamper yourself with a relaxing spa treatment. Because the luxury resorts in Punta Cana offer multiple buffet and a la carte restaurants, dining will be one of the many pleasures of your vacation, and if your Punta Cana luxury resort has a casino, you can enjoy some Las Vegas-style gambling late into the night.

In addition to multiple restaurants, the Punta Cana luxury hotels also have multiple bars, thus providing their guests with different atmospheres to choose from. While relaxing in a cigar bar and listening to soft music might better suit your style, dancing the night away at a disco will be on the agenda for others. The Excellence Punta Cana Resort and Spa, which is an adults-only Punta Cana luxury resort, has ten bars to choose from, one of which is a dance club, another one of which is a sports bar. Because the Excellence Punta Cana is an adults-only resort, it’s ideal for couples who are seeking romantic getaways. Also a prime candidate for couples, the mostly adult-oriented Sivory Punta Cana offers just 55 suites, so it is much smaller than the other resorts. Its secluded and tranquil atmosphere definitely encourages guests to relax.

While the aforementioned Punta Cana luxury hotels cater mostly to couples, it’s also possible to enjoy romantic moments at the more family-oriented luxury resorts in Punta Cana. Families will find resorts like the Paradisus Punta Cana and the Dreams Resort and Spa to be ideal fits for them, as they provide kids clubs that allow the parents to steal away every now and again. While the kids are busy enjoying games and activities under careful supervision, you might treat yourself to a couples massage, a romantic meal for two, or even a tour on the side. Sailing along the coast makes for a pleasant few hours, or you might head to the countryside to visit a farm and a cigar museum. Couples who aren’t traveling with children will also enjoy resorts like the Paradisus and Dreams, partly because they both offer some of the best Punta Cana wedding packages, not to mention complete facilities. You’ll definitely enjoy a slice of the good life at the luxury resorts in Punta Cana, even if you just choose to spend the bulk of your time relaxing on a lounge chaise at one of your resort’s multiple swimming polls.

While 5-star Punta Cana hotels like the ones listed above provide the most upscale lodging experience in the land, the 4-star choices are worth looking into as well. The rooms might not be quite as nice as they are at the 5-star choices, but they still have many amenities and provide a lot of extra perks. At some of the 4-star resorts in Punta Cana, such as the LTI Beach Resort, you can enjoy an elevated club experience that is near akin to 5-star treatment.
